Examining My Day Closer: Social Media Detox Day Four

Happy Independence From Social Media Day!

Making a resolution to blog every day this month has caused me to look closer at each day, ostensibly so that I can extract something from it and write about it in the blog.

But it’s more than just making another blog entry.

It reinforces the importance of the present.

Being immersed in social media takes you away from the present, even if you’re reading articles about current events. But, if reading about current events is all you want out of social media, why have the social media?

If you received a traditional newspaper, you would receive objective news that was not curated in a feed for you.

But that’s beside the point.

The point is, I am looking closer at each and every day.

Once again, the Alchemist. I swear this book was sent to me as a good omen.
